Banksy is a well-known and influential street artist whose works have gained global recognition for their socio-political themes and satirical commentary on society. One of his most striking murals is the "Hammer Boy" located in Birmingham, England. The artwork depicts a young boy dressed in a hoodie with a hammer in hand, ready to break the chains of oppression. The mural has become a popular tourist attraction and was even put up for sale by the building owner for a considerable sum. Despite the attempts of local authorities to remove or cover the artwork, it remains an important cultural icon for both residents and visitors to the city. Banksy's art challenges conventional norms and encourages critical thinking, making him one of the most influential artists of our time.

I was super glad to see this Banksy's art work. It is probably the only one Banksy's murals left available in New York for public. This was possible only because of Zabar's store care and protection of that painting. Thank you guys so much for doing this!

As a huge Banksy fan this is such a hidden gem. It's been protected with a plastic sheet over it, which is amazing. You might miss it walking past it so be sure to star it on your maps. Worth a photo if you pass by before it likely gets damaged or removed one day. True piece of street art

Cool to see one that hasn’t been taken down or destroyed. Was still there as of Nov 2017. If you are at the natural history museum this is just a short walk away. It is just art on the wall, don’t expert a whole thing around it :)

Finally got to see a Banksy in person! “Hammer Boy" (a boy with a carnival strong man hammer) is located on 79th Street, just east of Broadway, on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. I can only hope this wall art gets preserved for future generations to appreciate Banksy's work.

It’s funny how people run around this banksy and don’t even pay attention. I was actively seeking for it otherwise you can easily miss it. Once I started taking pictures a woman approached me and told me she walks by for about 5 years and never realized that there’s a banksy - crazy! The graffiti is protected by a glass pane.

❤️ Banksy ... whimsical and evocative at the same time ... just like life ... a big contradiction. So wonderful that this piece is being preserved.

Simple Banksy. Check it out if you're in the neighborhood, wouldn't go out of my way to check it out... although I did. ;)
